Seven Media Group (SMG) is seeking a Radio Technician in Sydney to support broadcast operations, ensuring audio quality and reliability across studios and OBs. You will diagnose issues, collaborate with engineering and service teams, and participate in hands-on projects to upgrade facilities.

The role offers early starts for Outside Broadcasts, travel to OB locations, and a dynamic, high-performance team environment in central Sydney.

Formación

• Experience in Audio, IT or equivalent (desirable).
• Exposure to digital audio platforms or related technologies (desirable).
• Introductory networking experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; a team player.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Understanding of Audio & Visual signal flow.
• Willingness to start early for breakfast Outside Broadcasts (OBs).
• Hold a full Australian driver’s licence and be willing to travel to OB locations.

Responsabilidades

• Keep studios and transmission gear humming from newsrooms to on-air studios and OBs.
• Diagnose issues, manage escalations, and coordinate with third-party contractors.
• Maintain and upgrade systems to meet industry standards and peak performance.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Service Delivery, and national teams.
• Hands-on projects installing, repairing, and designing new facilities and tech solutions.
• Support live events to ensure optimal sound quality for broadcasts.

What you'll do

As aRadio Technician, you'll be the backbone of our broadcast operations. Your day will include:

• Keeping our studios and transmission gear humming - from newsrooms to on-air studios and outside broadcasts.
• Solving tech challenges fast - diagnosing issues, managing escalations, and coordinating with third-party contractors.
• Maintaining and upgrading systems - ensuring everything runs at peak performance and meets industry standards.
• Collaborating with the team - working with Engineering, Service Delivery, and national teams to deliver seamless service.
• Hands-on projects - installing, repairing, and designing new facilities and tech solutions.
• Supporting live events - from sports to special broadcasts, you'll make sure everything sounds perfect.

What you'll need

• Have experience working in Audio, IT or equivalent recent qualifications (desirable)
• Have exposure working with digital audio platforms or related technologies (desirable)
• Have introductory networking experience
• Have fantastic communication and interpersonal skills - you're a team player.
• Have excellent organisational and time management skills, plus the ability to handle multiple tasks/deadlines at the same time.
• Have good problem-solving skills and an understanding of Audio & Visual signal flow.
• Have a can-do attitude and a thirst for knowledge.
• Have a genuine interest in sports coverage and be happy to start early for breakfast Outside Broadcasts (OBs), when they need a bit of extra support.
• Hold a full Australian driver's licence, as travel to OB locations is required.
• Have an interest in process improvement and finding smarter, more efficient ways of working.
