Job summary

Micromine, a global mining software leader, invites a Technical Writer to join the documentation team. You will transform complex technical concepts into clear, engaging content that guides customers through the software journey.

You’ll collaborate with product and development teams to capture updates and drive documentation excellence across a global portfolio. You will contribute to standards, localization tooling, and strong user guidance, while shaping how users experience our software in a

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Technical Writer in software/mining tech environments.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to translate complex concepts for end users.
• Experience with technical authoring and content management tools; MadCap Flare favored.
• Familiarity with software development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain release notes, installation guides, configuration manuals, online help and user documentation.
• Collaborate with product managers, developers, testers and support teams on updates and docs.
• Translate technical concepts into clear content for diverse audiences.
• Review and update existing documentation for accuracy and consistency.
• Contribute to documentation standards and best practices.
• Support documentation tools and localisation workflows.

The Opportunity

This role is part of Micromine, one of the specialist businesses within Weir Software Solutions. You'll transform complex technical concepts into clear, engaging documentation that supports customers throughout their software journey. Working alongside product and development teams, you'll influence how users experience our products while helping drive documentation excellence across a global software portfolio.

The Impact You'll Have

• Develop and maintain release notes, installation guides, configuration manuals, online help systems and user documentation
• Collaborate with product managers, developers, testers and support teams to understand product updates and documentation requirements
• Translate technical concepts into clear, accessible content for a range of audiences
• Review and update existing documentation to ensure accuracy, consistency and usability
• Contribute to documentation standards, processes and best practices
• Support the administration of documentation and localisation tools

What You Need To Succeed

• Proven experience as a Technical Writer, ideally within software, technology or mining technology environments
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to understand complex technical concepts and communicate them clearly to end users
• Experience using technical authoring and content management tools, with MadCap Flare highly regarded
• Experience working closely with software development teams and understanding the software development lifecycle
• A degree in Computer Science, Geology, Engineering or a related discipline will be highly regarded
