Job summary

Randstad Defence, partnering with Electro Optic Systems (EOS), seeks an experienced Technical Writer to join the Technical Communications team. This permanent role is based in Canberra or Melbourne.

You will draft and edit EOS Technical Communications, including IETPs, Operator & Maintenance Manuals, Illustrated Parts Catalogues and Manufacturing Process Instructions, applying ASD S1000D standards with the R4i Suite and collaborating with engineering teams.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years experience in a similar role.
• Ability to work collaboratively across teams.

Responsibilities

• Draft, edit and write EOS Technical Communications to meet project needs, including the suite of Technical Communications products.
• Create and update Interactive Electronic Technical Publications (IETPs), Operator & Maintenance Manuals, Illustrated Parts Catalogues and Manufacturing Process Instructions.
• Draft and edit content to ASD S1000D standards using the R4i Suite of software and publishing packages.
• Assign activities based on workload and expertise within the team.
• Engage with EOS engineering groups locally and internationally to identify and meet requirements.
• Collaborate with Project and ILS Managers regarding their Technical Communication needs.

This is a permanent role based in either Canberra or Melbourne.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft, edit and write EOS Technical Communications to meet the required need. The suite of Technical Communications products will include (but are not limited to):
• Interactive Electronic Technical Publications (IETPs)
• Operator & Maintenance Manuals
• Illustrated Parts Catalogues
• Manufacturing Process Instructions
• Draft and edit content to ASD S1000D standards and format using the R4i Suite of software and publishing packages.
• Assign activities based on workload and expertise within the team.
• Engage with EOS engineering groups both locally and internationally to ensure requirements are identified and met.
• Engage the Project and ILS Managers regarding their specific Technical Communication requirements
