xceltium is partnering with an established Australian organisation to hire a Technology Support Analyst – Digital Workplace near Liverpool. This permanent role sits in a small internal technology team and involves four days in the office plus one day from home.
You’ll split time roughly 50–60% Level 1 support across the wider tech environment and ~40% on Microsoft 365 and SharePoint. You’ll assist users, onboarding/offboarding, and contribute to documentation and small projects.
If you’ve built solid Level 1 support experience and started getting exposure to Microsoft 365, the next step can be difficult to find.
Many roles keep you doing broad Service Desk support. Others expect you to already have the Level 2 experience you’re trying to develop.
This opportunity sits between the two.
Our client is an established Australian organisation with a national footprint, looking for a Technology Support Analyst – Digital Workplace to join its internal technology team near Liverpool.
The support team consists of three Technology Support Analysts working from a shared Service Desk queue. All three provide Level 1 support, but each also develops deeper capability within a particular technology domain.
For you, that domain will be Digital Workplace.
Around 50–60% of the role will involve Level 1 support across the broader technology environment, with around 40% focused on Microsoft 365 and SharePoint.
You’ll support users across devices, applications, access and Microsoft 365, alongside onboarding, offboarding and day-to-day troubleshooting. You’ll also contribute to documentation, service improvements, smaller technology changes and projects.
Because it’s a small team, you’ll get broad exposure and progressively become a trusted point of contact for Digital Workplace support.
You don’t need to arrive as a Microsoft 365 or SharePoint specialist.
You’ll progressively take on more across SharePoint Online sites, libraries and lists; document structures, views and permissions; intranet pages; and practical Microsoft 365 troubleshooting.
You’ll also work across Teams, OneDrive and Exchange Online, building a broader understanding of how the Microsoft 365 environment fits together.
Exposure to Power Automate and how it interacts with SharePoint would be useful, but isn’t essential.
You might currently be working in a Service Desk, IT Support or Desktop Support role, with solid Level 1 foundations and around 6–12 months of practical Microsoft 365 exposure.
Alternatively, you could be working for an MSP, where you’ve developed good technical breadth across different customers and environments, but now want to move into an internal IT team and start building deeper capability in a defined area.
You’ll ideally bring:
You don’t need to be the finished product. Aptitude, curiosity and willingness to learn will matter just as much as the Microsoft 365 knowledge you already have.
This role has been designed with development in mind. You’re not expected to arrive with all the answers.
You’ll work in a small internal technology team where you can learn from colleagues with deeper capability across different areas, receive training and mentoring, and gain exposure beyond day-to-day support.
For someone early in their IT career, it’s an opportunity to keep building your breadth while developing a technical area you can genuinely call your own.
The role is permanent and based near Liverpool, with four days per week in the office and one day working from home. The time onsite gives you regular access to the team and more opportunity for hands‑on learning.
Occasional branch and interstate travel will also be required.
