Sydney Water is seeking a Technical Specialist to support business customers and protect our wastewater network. This role requires hands-on technical guidance, assurance activities, and effective stakeholder engagement across councils, consultants, and industry groups.

• 5+ years in a relevant technical role.
• Strong knowledge of trade wastewater management and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to translate technical info for diverse stakeholders.
• Proven experience building productive customer/regulator relationships.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Experience with technical reviews, audits, assurance or risk assessments.
• Current Class C Driver Licence.

Bring your technical expertise to one of Sydney Water's most critical environmental and customer compliance functions. We're seeking a Technical Specialist to provide expert technical guidance, assurance and decision-making support across our business customer portfolio, helping protect our people, assets, environment and communities.

About the Role

As a trusted technical specialist, you'll play a key role in protecting Sydney Water's wastewater network and ensuring industry customers meet the standards that safeguard our people, assets, environment and communities. Working across a diverse portfolio of business customers, you'll provide expert advice, build strong relationships with councils, consultants and industry representatives, and help drive positive compliance and environmental outcomes.

Acting as a key technical representative for Sydney Water, you'll engage with stakeholders to influence best practice wastewater management, resolve complex issues and support sustainable growth across our service area. This role combines technical expertise, stakeholder engagement, assurance activities and continuous improvement, making it ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex challenges while building strong professional relationships.

What You'll Be Doing

About You

You will bring:

• A degree in Engineering, Science or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years' experience in a relevant technical role.
• Strong knowledge of trade wastewater management, compliance and regulatory requirements.
• The ability to translate complex technical information into practical advice for a range of stakeholders.
• Proven experience building productive relationships with customers, consultants, regulators, councils or industry groups.
• Strong communication, influencing and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Experience undertaking technical reviews, audits, assurance or risk assessments.
• A current Class C Driver Licence.
