Xanda Group is assisting an ASX-listed global Tier 1 mining company with its Perth-based Technical Services Manager search. The role leads the Technical Services function to deliver integrated mine planning, design and governance, coordinating geology, planning, geotechnical and ventilation inputs to meet safe, efficient targets.

Purpose of the Position

The Technical Services Manager is responsible for leading the Technical Services function to deliver integrated mine planning, design and technical governance that enables safe, predictable and value-optimised production. The role integrates geology, planning, geotechnical and ventilation inputs to ensure site and department targets are met in a safe, efficient manner, in accordance with company standards and in full compliance with relevant legislative and statutory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Demonstrate full compliance with OHS and Environmental Management System standards by participating in initiatives, investigations, training and audits, and championing safety values across the department
• Lead the development and integration of short, medium and long-term mine plans, translating strategic objectives into executable plans that balance safety, production, cost, risk and orebody value
• Ensure the integrity and governance of mine design, planning and scheduling processes, providing technical assurance and risk management across planning, design and execution
• Lead technical studies and evaluations to support asset optimisation, growth and long-term viability
• Manage the Technical Services function, including the Geotechnical, Mine Planning and Ventilation Superintendents, building capability, accountability and alignment across disciplines
• Partner with the Mining Manager, Processing, Maintenance, HSE and Finance to align plans, assumptions and costs across the business
• Deliver accurate and timely technical reporting, forecasting and analysis to support decision-making at site and Group level

The Candidate

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mining) or a related discipline
• Statutory certification relevant to mining operations in Western Australia
• Postgraduate qualification in business, management or mineral economics (desirable)
• 10+ years' experience in an underground mining environment, including technical services
• 5 years in a senior technical leadership role, leading managers or superintendents
• Sound knowledge of life of mine planning, resource and reserve integration, and the geotechnical and ventilation constraints that shape mine design
• Proven ability to lead leaders and manage technical risk in high-pressure environments
