Job summary

Myndshift Group is seeking an experienced Technical Services Superintendent for an established open cut coal operation in Central West NSW. You will lead a multi-disciplinary team across mine planning, surveying, coal quality, logistics, drill and blast, and geology/geotechnical.

Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, you will drive short to long term mine planning to balance production targets with resource optimisation, while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance and staying hands-on

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or related discipline.
• Significant open cut black coal experience with mine planning and technical services.
• Proven ability to lead and develop a multi-disciplinary technical team.
• Willingness to stay hands-on with upstream technical requirements.
• Sound knowledge of NSW coal mining legislation and regulatory requirements.
• Strong commercial, analytical and problem-solving capability.
• Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical services function across mine planning, surveying, coal quality and logistics, drill and blast, and geology/geotechnical.
• Drive short, medium and long term mine planning to deliver safe, efficient and commercially sustainable coal extraction.
• Report to the Technical Services Manager and align delivery with production targets and regulatory obligations.
• Stay hands-on with upstream technical work while coaching a growing multi-disciplinary team.
• Champion a strong safety culture and collaborative working relationships across teams.
