Job summary

Myndshift Group is recruiting a Technical Services Superintendent for an established open cut coal operation in Central West NSW. You will lead mine planning, surveying, coal quality, logistics, drill and blast, and geology/geotechnical teams, ensuring safe, efficient and commercially sustainable extraction.

You will stay hands-on with upstream technical work while developing a growing team and maintaining strong regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or a related discipline.
• Significant open cut black coal experience with a strong background in mine planning and technical services.
• Proven ability to lead, develop and engage a multi-disciplinary technical team.
• Willingness to stay hands-on with upstream technical requirements.
• Sound knowledge of NSW coal mining legislation and regulatory requirements.
• Strong commercial, analytical and problem-solving capability.
• Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills.

Technical Services Superintendent - Central NSW

Myndshift Group have been engaged by our client partner, a major mining house with a strong presence across Australia's resource sector, to appoint a Technical Services Superintendent to an established open cut coal operation in Central West NSW.

About the Role

• Lead the technical services function across mine planning, surveying, coal quality and logistics, drill and blast, and geology/geotechnical, providing clear direction and accountability for a multi-disciplinary team
• Drive short, medium and long term mine planning to deliver safe, efficient and commercially sustainable coal extraction, balancing production targets with resource optimisation
• Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, work closely with operational leaders to ensure delivery aligns with production targets, statutory requirements and environmental obligations
• Stay close to the upstream technical work, bringing hands-on technical credibility while building, coaching and developing a newer, growing team
• Champion a strong safety culture and collaborative working relationships across technical and operational teams
