Job summary
Argo Natural Resources is seeking a Senior Mining Engineer to lead the technical services function at New Burton. You will provide strategic direction across mine planning, scheduling, surveying and geology, driving plans to meet production targets with compliance to regulatory and environmental obligations.
The role requires extensive open cut coal mining experience, strong leadership of technical teams, and a deep understanding of mine design and production planning.
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or related discipline.
- Extensive experience in open cut coal mining with strong planning leadership.
- Desirable: First Class Mine Manager’s Certification.
- Strong knowledge of mine design, scheduling and production planning.
- Proven ability to lead technical teams and engage across leadership.
Responsibilities
- Lead the technical services function across mine planning, scheduling, surveying, geology and tech support.
- Develop short-, medium-, and long-term mine plans to improve performance.
- Coordinate with operations leaders to meet production targets and regulatory commitments.
- Ensure environmental obligations and business objectives are integrated.
