Job summary

Ironbark No 1 mine in Queensland’s Bowen Basin, part of the Argo Complex, seeks a Superintendent of the Site-based Technical Services team to connect mine planning, technical excellence and operational execution to deliver safe, productive and optimised mining outcomes.

Lead the site based technical services team, engage with site personnel on operational and safety matters, and drive short, medium and long term mine planning and design to maximise mine performance and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in a similar position within coal
• Relevant tertiary qualifications
• Experience managing and leading teams - internally as well as contractor management and performance
• Strong understanding and ability to oversee system reviews, refinement and carry out implementations for improvement initiatives
• Experience in managing and maintaining budget and cost control processes
• Be decisive, accountable and able to make things happen
• Bring a positive attitude, resilience and the ability to build strong relationships

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight and leadership to the site based technical services team.
• Communicate, liaise and constructively engage with key site personnel regarding operational, technical and safety related matters.
• Short, medium and long term mine planning and design activities including Mine design, scheduling and Development of plans to maximise mine optimisation.
• Responsible for surveying, ventilation & gas drainage, Mine Planning.
• Management of optimisation and process improvement in conjunction with operational requirements.
