Job summary

NSW Health is seeking a Technical Officer (Gde 2) in Biomedical Engineering for a Permanent Full-time position based at Campbelltown Hospital. The role offers 38 hours per week with a salary of $90,837.67–$102,751.61 plus 12% superannuation and salary packaging.

Join a dedicated team responsible for maintenance, lifecycle management, and reliable operation of critical medical equipment across South Western Sydney Local Health District. Travel across the district may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in biomedical or electrical engineering recognized by Engineers Australia OR Advanced Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
  • Demonstrated experience in maintenance, repair, and testing of electronic equipment.
  • Problem-solving ability and technical aptitude to resolve issues.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills; ability to work independently and in teams.

Responsibilities

  • Provide maintenance, repair, and lifecycle management of critical medical equipment across sites.
  • Support safe, reliable, and effective patient care by collaborating with clinicians and engineers.
  • Travel across the district and participate in on-call or after-hours support as required.
  • Contribute to technology and infrastructure projects within a multidisciplinary Biomedical Engineering team.

Selection Criteria

To help us assess your suitability for the role, please tell us as much as you can about yourself in response to the questions below.

  • Bachelor’s degree in biomedical or electrical engineering recognised by Engineers Australia OR Advanced Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
  • Demonstrated experience in the maintenance, repair, and testing of electronic equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve, seek solutions and apply your technical knowledge to resolve presenting issues.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and negotiation skills with an outstanding commitment to excellent customer service who can work independently and as a team member.

Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
