Job summary

The Technical Officer at Central Coast Council provides operational technical support for the water and sewer networks and maintenance activities, ensuring efficient service delivery for the community.

Reporting to the Lead Operations Engineer, you will assist in project planning, design reviews, resource coordination and respond to enquiries with clear technical guidance for internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV qualification in Water Operations OR equivalent demonstrated solid contemporary experience in water and/ or sewer.
• Valid Construction General Induction Card - NSW SafeWork or equivalent.
• Current Class C Drivers Licence.
• Extensive relevant experience within the water and sewer industry with experience in operation, maintenance and/ or construction of water networks and/ or sewer networks.
• Experience across various information systems and software including Microsoft Office Applications, asset management, document management, mobile devices and systems.

Job description

The role of Technical Officer is responsible for providing operational technical support for the efficient and effective operation of Council's water and sewer networks and maintenance activities.

Reporting to the Lead Operations Engineer, this role will see you contribute to the delivery of water and sewer network projects and maintenance programs. Your duties may include involvement in project planning, reviewing designs and coordinating the resources necessary for project delivery.

Additionally, you will be tasked with responding to water and sewer enquiries and works as required, providing appropriate technical advice to internal and external stakeholders.

This position is required to provide quality customer service and create value for the community.

Applicant Profile

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• a Certificate IV qualification in Water Operations OR equivalent demonstrated solid contemporary experience in water and/ or sewer

Offer Details

The commencing salary for this position is up to $86.5k per year. Central Coast Council also provides progression opportunities for employees to progress up to the maximum salary of $100.2k on completion of assessment of skills and/ or performance plus 12% superannuation

• We have a permanent full-time role available
• This role will be able to access a 9 day fortnight
• We are able to offer hybrid and flexible working conditions for this role - 2 days from home and 3 days onsite
• This role is located at the Nexus Business Hub, North Wyong and Council Depot locations as required.
