Amcor Moorabbin is seeking a highly skilled Technical Manager to lead MAP technology initiatives across global sites. You will oversee QC/QA systems and drive product innovation while liaising with sales and R&D teams.

Reporting to the Global Sales & Marketing Manager, you will mentor plant technical teams, manage IP, and navigate multi-site operations and time-zone travel across international markets.

Qualifications

• 10–20 years in technical innovation within fresh produce or packaging, ideally with MAP exposure.
• Strong understanding of global food packaging regulatory standards and multi-site operations.
• Bachelor's degree in Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Food Technology, or related field (postgraduate preferred).

Overview of Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Manager to join our multifunctional sales and R&D team supporting our leading post-harvest fresh produce brand in Modified Atmosphere Packaging (MAP).

This role is pivotal in overseeing technical, operational, and quality functions across multiple global manufacturing sites and toll manufacturing partners. It combines deep technical expertise in polymer science and post-harvest technologies with leadership, strategic management, and customer-facing capabilities.

Location: Moorabbin (Global scope with international travel)

Reports to: Global Sales & Marketing Manager

Key Responsibilities

Lead technical operations in MAP technologies, ensuring consistent standards across global sites.

Oversee QC/QA systems, ensuring product integrity and compliance with international food safety standards.

Drive product innovation, manage Intellectual Property, provide technical service, and partner with sales teams to deliver customer-focused solutions.

Mentor plant technical teams, align with corporate R&D and supply chain, contribute to business strategy and deliver key projects.

Qualifications & Requirements

Experience - 10–20 years in technical innovation within fresh produce or packaging, ideally with MAP exposure.

Knowledge - Strong understanding of global food packaging regulatory standards and multi-site operations.

Skills - Strategic mindset, resilience, analytical judgement, negotiation, and commercial acumen.

Education - Bachelor's degree in Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Food Technology, or related field (postgraduate preferred).

Other - Flexibility to work across time zones and travel internationally for extended periods. Multilingual capabilities are an advantage with a preference for fluency in Mandarin.
