Job summary

ADM Australia Pty Ltd is seeking an Application Technologist for a 12-month contract to develop beverage concepts and support customer-driven projects. • Prefer experience in a Food ingredients or flavour company.
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office suite skills.

• Strong communication and stakeholder rapport; able to taste finished products and ingredients.

• Develop beverage concepts and support customer-driven projects in collaboration with ingredients, flavours and colours.
• Provide technical support to Key Accounts and Market Managers.
• Coordinate internal product evaluation and sensory testing.
• Prepare detailed product information and demo sheets/COA for customers.
• Maintain laboratory materials and assist in formula development.
• Collaborate with Product Development, Flavour Creation, Sales and Marketing to meet deadlines.
• Represent the company at meetings, exhibitions, and seminars as required.

Application Technologist (12 Month contract)

This is a 12 month contract and is a fantastic opportunity to gain exposure in a global company

You will be energetic, a team player but can also work automously.This role will see you working in development of mainly Beverage product concepts to support both customer driven and pro-active projects – integrating our Specialty Ingredients, Flavors and Colours. You will also support Sales in delivering the expectations of key accounts, primary focus of the role will be Beverage categories. Further to these but not limited to additional tasks as below;

Be versed in the latest processing methods, packaging and stability of Beverage samples.

Apply food technology knowledge into formula development, processing equipment, raw materials and flavour selection, routine analysis, sensory evaluation, taste panelling, etc.

Understanding of Food ingredients, Flavors, Colours, Sweeteners and other ingredients to develop beverages.

Demonstrate and maintain knowledge of ANZ beverage markets and industry relevant trends

Conduct and coordinate internal product evaluation and sensory testing.

Prepare detailed and accurate product information for customers using available IT tools and information sources.Provides accurate information for demo sheets/C of A’s and formulations

Provide technical support to Key Account and Market Managers

Collaborate with Product Development & Applications, Flavour Creation, Sales and Marketing teams to achieve on-time completion of tasks

Maintain laboratory raw materials and consumables.

Trouble-shoot any issues regarding formulations/manufacturing procedures, etc.

Performs multiple tasks daily by supporting multiple Account Managers, Identifies higher priority needs and re-arranges daily workload of self and others.

Represent the company at meetings, exhibitions, seminars and courses as required by management.

Prepare regular reports on a weekly or monthly basis as required by management.

Bachelor Degree or equivalent – Food Technology/Science

Preferable experience with working in a Food ingredients or flavour company.

Intermediate to advance Microsoft Office suite skills

Well organised with ability to be a good project leader

High level of analytical thinking

Ability to understand and relay technical information

Great communication and ability to build a rapport with stakeholders (internal and external)

Ability to taste a variety of finished products and ingredients (including meat and allergen containing items)
