Job summary

Flight Centre Travel Group Australia is seeking a Technical Lead in South Bank, QLD to lead the design, development, and delivery of technical solutions across integration services and the booking platform. You will guide solution design, mentor engineers, and champion Agile practices to improve delivery and engineering excellence.

The role emphasizes modern architectures (microservices, event-driven, serverless), AWS-native services, and a strong focus on security and reliability in production

Qualifications

• 5+ years' professional experience in a senior software engineering role.
• Bachelor's degree or demonstrated equivalent industry experience.
• Hands-on experience with Node.js/TypeScript backend development; NestJS and AWS-native services (Lambda, SNS/SQS) highly regarded.
• Demonstrated understanding of Agile principles and software delivery methodologies.
• Strong knowledge of modern software engineering principles, secure coding, and solution design.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and delivery of technical solutions aligned to customer needs and business objectives.
• Provide technical leadership, guide solution design, and collaborate with architects and stakeholders.
• Coach, mentor, and develop engineers to foster a high-performing team culture.
• Champion Agile practices, continuous delivery, test automation, and engineering excellence.
• Drive modern architectural patterns such as microservices, event-driven, and serverless solutions.
• Ensure reliability, security, and ongoing support of production systems with proactive risk management.
