Job summary

The Clean Energy Regulator is seeking APS Level 6 professionals to join the Technical Stream. Roles are full-time with flexible remote work options and some travel to Canberra as needed. The agency is expanding programs including new schemes and national regulatory responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications are not required, but related studies are advantageous.
• Experience in regulatory contexts and energy policy is beneficial.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex technical analysis and provide specialised advice on energy systems and standards.
• Translate policy and technical requirements into implementable options and pathways.
• Assess feasibility, risks, dependencies and operational impacts; provide decision-ready recommendations.
• Prepare briefing material, technical reports and presentations with clear assumptions and options.
• Coordinate review of complex issues and consolidate feedback from internal and external stakeholders.
• Coach others to improve technical reasoning, documentation and consistency of standards.
• Manage stakeholder relationships for sensitive matters, explaining technical concepts clearly.
• Drive continuous improvement of guidance, templates and processes for readiness and delivery.
