Job summary

Compas Pty Ltd is seeking a Senior Technical Lead to join a Federal Government Department on a long-term contract in Canberra. You will lead cloud and IT solution architectures, guide engineering teams across cloud, DevOps and security, and coordinate with stakeholders to ensure delivery excellence.

The role requires security clearance (NV2) or the ability to obtain it quickly, and the position is ACT-only for an initial contract till June 2027 with extensions possible.

Qualifications

• Experience leading delivery of cloud architecture across AWS, Azure and GCP.
• Proven leadership in engineering management and technical strategy.
• Experience in DevOps, CI/CD, IaC and cloud security.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of enterprise-wide cloud and IT solution architectures aligned with strategic business goals.
• Oversee the specification and design of complex IT systems integrating cloud services, legacy platforms, and emerging technologies.
• Direct engineering teams across cloud infrastructure, DevOps, and security domains, ensuring delivery excellence.
• Manage integration and delivery of technical staff and vendors.
• Champion innovation in cloud engineering practices and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
