Job summary

EML in Sydney seeks a Technical & Injury Management Specialist to support claims teams within our Hospitality Industry Insurance business. You will apply technical workers' compensation and injury management expertise to complex claims and help deliver positive outcomes for workers and employers.

This permanent, full-time role offers hybrid work arrangements after probation and opportunities to coach colleagues while contributing to proactive injury management strategies.

Qualifications

• Strong technical knowledge of NSW workers compensation scheme.
• Experience in injury management within a fast-paced workers compensation environment.
• Solid claims management experience, including long-term and litigated claims.
• Knowledge of work capacity and treatment approvals.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance to claims teams on complex claims and legislative requirements.
• Develop and implement proactive injury management strategies.
• Provide specialist coaching and one-on-one support to claims team members.
• Support teams with complex work capacity, treatment and long-term claim decisions.
• Review claims management practices and identify emerging trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Work with Team Leaders to develop strategies that support team performance and outcomes.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

As Australia’s largest specialist in personal injury claims management, our sole focus is helping people return to work safely and confidently after a workplace incident.

We’re now welcoming applications for Technical & Injury Management Specialist to join our supportive, purpose-driven team in Sydney on a permanent, full-time basis, with flexibility to work from home up to 2 days per week.

You’ll join our Hospitality Industry Insurance (HII) business, providing industry‑specific workers compensation insurance to more than 1,600 accommodation hotels, pubs and clubs across NSW. In this specialist role, you’ll use your technical workers compensation and injury management expertise to support claims teams, manage complex scenarios and help deliver positive outcomes for workers and employers.

What You’ll Be Doing

Do you have…

• Strong technical experience within the NSW workers compensation scheme
• Experience in injury management within a fast‑paced workers compensation environment
• Strong claims management experience, particularly with long‑term and litigated claims
• Sound knowledge of work capacity and treatment approvals
• Experience coaching, mentoring or providing technical support to others
• Strong stakeholder management and relationship‑building skills
• The ability to manage competing priorities and provide practical, considered advice
