Hands-on technical role supporting a key long-term mining customer

8:6 Roster or Monday-Friday in our Brisbane Head Office (with significant travel required)

The Role

As a Technical Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering technical blasting support across key customer sites in the Bowen Basin. You will work closely with site-based teams and customers, lead technical projects and blasting trials, enhance value-in-use outcomes and drive continuous improvement initiatives. This role offers a high level of autonomy and ownership, allowing you to deliver technical solutions that improve blasting performance and support long-term customer success.

Bowen Basin

This site-based role will be based primarily with a key long-term customer, providing the opportunity to build strong operational relationships and deliver meaningful technical outcomes. While supporting a dedicated customer operation, you will also gain exposure to a variety of other operations, technical projects and blasting trials across the region when required.

Key responsibilities include:

Providing technical drill and blast support for a key customer operation

Implementing value-in-use products and applications to enhance customer outcomes

Identifying and delivering continuous improvement opportunities at site

Providing technical input and support for customer-produced blast designs

Delivering technical training and support for blast crews

Managing and delivering technical projects, blasting trials and continuous improvement initiatives across customer operations

Building strong relationships with customer technical teams, Drill & Blast Supervisors and operational stakeholders to support site performance and blasting outcomes

Planning, coordinating and evaluating blasting trials and technical projects to improve customer outcomes and product performance

What you'll bring

You must be committed to positively contributing to our safe, inclusive and high-performance culture

Proven technical expertise in drill and blast, ideally within coal operations

Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering, Engineering or a related discipline preferred, or extensive industry experience (minimum 10 years) within a technical drill and blast environment

Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail and a customer-focused mindset

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and quality

Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work across site-based stakeholders

Strong focus on innovation and continuous improvement

Willingness to travel across sites as required
