Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Technical Director to lead environmental impact assessments across renewable energy, transmission, transport, water and industrial sectors in NSW and beyond. You will guide complex approvals, shape major bids and mentor a growing EIA team, delivering projects from pursuit to completion.

Qualifications

• Proven experience delivering environmental projects in NSW with understanding of planning and approval pathways.
• Ability to assume Project Director responsibilities, managing scope, schedule, budget and risk.
• Demonstrated leadership ability and track record of guiding teams.
• Strong technical foundation; REP accreditation or progress towards it preferred.

Responsibilities

• Act as a senior technical leader and strategic adviser to clients, providing clear guidance across complex approval pathways.
• Take accountability for the performance, growth and ongoing development of the Sydney EIA team.
• Lead and deliver major projects from pursuit to completion, including shaping bids and winning work.
• Strengthen capability across the group by mentoring consultants and lifting technical and commercial confidence.
• Apply deep knowledge of State and Commonwealth EIA requirements while balancing risk and client outcomes.
