Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Sector Manager to lead the NSW & ACT Impact Assessment and Permitting practice, overseeing environmental planning, ecology, heritage and social impact teams. You will drive growth, client relationships and high-quality delivery across Sydney, Newcastle and Canberra.

You will shape the team culture, mentor leaders, and ensure alignment of capability with market opportunities while reporting to the ANZ Sector Director.

Qualifications

• Ter tiary qualifications in Environmental Planning or related discipline with accreditation eligibility.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary environmental, impact assessment, approvals teams.
• Proven people leadership across diverse, high-performing teams.
• Market-facing experience with client relationships and growth.
• Strong commercial and business leadership capabilities.
• Ability to lead through change and align teams to evolving needs.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement with credibility.
• Strategic thinker with sound judgement and outcomes focus.
• Experience working across geographically dispersed teams is valued.
