Job summary

Latitude IT is seeking a hands-on engineering leader to take ownership of a cloud-native platform. You will move from delivery to owning architecture, sprint planning and day-to-day guidance for a small, skilled team of developers and analysts.

You bring production React front-end and Node.js/TypeScript back-end experience, plus strong AWS ECS and PostgreSQL knowledge. You will mentor others, drive a strangler-pattern migration, and coordinate with security specialists.

Qualifications

• Hands-on engineering or security-focused start, then moved into delivery management.
• Production experience with React front-end and Node.js/TypeScript back end against PostgreSQL.
• Real-world AWS experience, ideally with ECS, running containerised services.
• Experience migrating legacy/on-premise apps to the cloud via strangler pattern.
• Been in real production outages and understands recovery discipline.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture decisions, sprint planning and daily technical guidance for three developers and two analysts.
• Shape migration strategy using strangler pattern rather than rip-and-replace.
• Decompose requirements and guide mid-tier and junior developers to delivery; roughly 20% hands-on.
• Collaborate with a dedicated security specialist to ensure secure delivery.
