Job summary

UGL Transport is seeking a Technical Coordinator to join the Rail Operations Centre in Green Square, NSW, acting as the critical link between train drivers, fleet controllers and maintenance teams to resolve issues safely and efficiently.

You will coordinate fault identification, diagnosis and responses, prioritise maintenance activities and communications with multiple stakeholders in time-critical situations, supporting 24/7 operations; trade or engineering qualification and rolling stock

Qualifications

  • Trade qualification, technical certification or equivalent engineering qualification.
  • Experience in rollingstock maintenance, commissioning or a related transport, manufacturing or asset-intensive industry.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, field modification instructions, parts bulletins and bill of materials.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Experience managing competing priorities while maintaining customer focus.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Sound computer literacy and reporting capability.
  • SAP experience will be highly regarded.

Technical Coordinator – Passenger Train Help Desk – Green Square, NSW We're looking for a Technical Coordinator to join our team at Green Square, Alexandria, NSW and become the critical link between train operations, fleet controllers and maintenance teams. If you enjoy problem-solving, coordinating people, and making sure things run smoothly, we'd love to hear from you. This role would suit candidates from a variety of backgrounds including rail, transport, maintenance planning, operations coordination, fleet maintenance, technical support, engineering support, defence, aviation or other operational environments.

About the Role Reporting to the Planning & Logistics Manager, you will be the first point of contact for operational issues impacting the New Intercity Fleet in service. Working within the Rail Operations Centre, you'll coordinate communication and technical responses between train drivers, NSCC Fleet Controllers and maintenance teams to ensure issues are resolved safely and efficiently. As a key member of the operations support team, you'll help minimise fleet downtime through effective fault coordination, maintenance prioritisation and stakeholder communication. This position operates on a 24/7 rotating roster comprising 12-hour shifts.

Key Responsibilities

You will bring
  • Trade qualification, technical certification or equivalent engineering qualification.
