Job summary

At Atlassian, we are seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead the Jira Service Management ITSM/ESM stream. You will guide technical decisions for production services, prioritise work, and mentor managers, principal engineers, and their teams to deliver scalable user journeys for our customers.

This fully remote role requires you to be located in or around the APAC region (AEST). You will collaborate with product management to shape roadmaps and drive a culture of high performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years leading a development team in a technical capacity.
• Experience building large-scale web software and operating it in production.
• Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies.
• Knowledge of distributed systems concepts (scaling, consistency, availability).
• Experience forming and evolving new teams and platforms.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

Your background:

• Established experience leading a development team in (at least) a technical capacity.
• Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies.
• Knowledge of distributed systems concepts, e.g. scaling, consistency and availability tradeoffs.
• Familiarity with platform thinking to focus on usability for our internal customers.
• Success with new team formation and evolution.
• Prior experience developing platforms is desirable.
