Job summary

Dalton Handley is seeking a Business Development Executive or Junior Business Development Manager to join the Technology and IP BD team in Sydney. You will work with partners on growth plans, pursuits and client work, turning market activity into practical BD ideas.

You will partner with lawyers and business leaders to drive growth, strengthen relationships and raise the firm’s profile in the tech sector, coordinating pitches, campaigns and client events.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years in business development or marketing, preferably in law or professional services.
• Experience supporting pitches, client programmes, campaigns or events.
• Strong writing skills for proposals, presentations and marketing materials.
• Research and analytics abilities to extract insights from data.
• Organised and calm under competing priorities and deadlines.
• Proactive, able to take initiative and work with senior stakeholders.
• Interest in technology, innovation and AI and their BD applications.
• Tertiary qualification in marketing, business, communications or related discipline preferred.

Responsibilities

• Partner with lawyers, partners and business leaders to drive growth and raise the firm's profile.
• Support client targeting and client plans: research, meeting coordination and follow-up.
• Coordinate and deliver pitches, proposals and RFP responses with the BD team.
• Prepare capability statements, credentials, presentations and client materials for the technology sector.
• Plan and deliver campaigns, thought leadership, webinars and client events.
• Work with Communications on publications, media and digital channels.
• Coordinate industry association, network and event partner relationships.
