We’re looking for a Team Manager to lead one of Junction’s residential care homes in Wangaratta, supporting a team of Residential Care Workers to provide safe, consistent and trauma-informed care to young people.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll have the opportunity to develop your team, shape practice and create the structure and consistency that helps both staff and young people thrive.
You don’t necessarily need to already have “Manager” in your job title. You might be a Team Leader, Senior Practitioner, Case Manager or experienced practitioner who is ready to take the next step into operational leadership.
Along with meaningful work and the opportunity to grow your leadership career, you’ll have access to:
There isn’t really a “typical” day in residential care, but you can expect to:
You’ll work alongside Case Managers, a Therapeutic Specialist, other Team Managers and the broader Care Services team, so while there’s real responsibility in this role, you won’t be working in isolation.
You’ll also remain connected to frontline practice and may provide direct care or work within Junction’s residential houses when operationally required.
You don’t need to pretend residential care is easy.
We’re looking for someone who understands that good leadership in this environment means being present, consistent and accountable.
You can build trust and set clear expectations. You can support a staff member while still having difficult conversations when they’re needed. When something doesn’t go to plan, you can remain calm, make decisions and know when to ask for support.
Most importantly, you understand that the culture, routines and relationships within a residential home have a direct impact on the young people who live there.
