The Salvation Army (SA) Property Trust atf Social Work in NSW is seeking a Team Leader, Youth Services, to guide a dedicated team of youth caseworkers and counsellors. The role focuses on client-centred support and high-quality therapeutic interventions for vulnerable young people, across Wyong and Hamilton locations.

Parental leave cover through to December 2027, SCHADS Level 5 salary, and opportunities for staff development and flexible working arrangements.

Qualifications

• Degree in Social Work or related field or equivalent sector experience.
• Extensive experience in youth or community services.
• Minimum 2 years' experience leading and supervising staff in a social services environment.
• Strong knowledge of case management and trauma-informed practice.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Current National Police Check, NSW Working With Children Check and Australian Driver Licence.

• Oversee day-to-day service delivery, including intake, case management and support planning.
• Provide guidance and expertise on complex case management matters.
• Drive continuous improvement of service delivery practices and processes.

About the role

As Team Leader, you will provide leadership, guidance and operational oversight to a team of youth caseworkers and counsellors, supporting the delivery of high-quality, consistent and effective services that meet organisational standards and funding requirements.

Working across our Wyong and Hamilton locations, you will foster a positive, collaborative team culture and build staff capacity to deliver best-practice case management, therapeutic support, social and outreach services, and group programs. You will services are responsive, young-person-centred and tailored to the individual needs of young people, supporting positive outcomes and well-being.

This is a parental leave cover opportunity through to December 2027 , offering the chance to lead a dedicated team while contributing to lasting positive change in the lives of vulnerable young people across the Central Coast and Newcastle regions. Salary is in accordance with SCHADS Level 5.

What you will bring

• Degree qualification in Social Work, Welfare, Community Development or a related field (or equivalent sector experience).
• Extensive experience in youth or community services.
• Minimum 2 years' experience leading and supervising staff in a social services environment.
• Strong knowledge of case management, trauma-informed practice and youth-focused service delivery.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and problem-solving skills.
• Commitment to the mission and values of The Salvation Army.
• Current National Police Check, NSW Working With Children Check and Australian Driver Licence.
