Job summary

Telstra Health’s Leaving Violence Program seeks a Team Leader to guide frontline social workers supporting victim‑survivors. You’ll coach, supervise and develop staff, delivering trauma‑informed, person‑centred care within a national program.

You’ll drive risk assessment, safety planning and continuous improvement while building strong stakeholder partnerships and ensuring high‑quality service delivery.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Social Work and AASW membership
  • WWCC and NPC clearances
  • Experience in FDSV services with leadership capabilities
  • Strong trauma-informed practice knowledge and risk assessment skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement
  • Leadership or people management experience in social/human services

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coach frontline practitioners delivering trauma-informed support to victim-survivors
  • Provide practice leadership, supervision and debriefing for complex cases
  • Oversee risk and needs assessments, safety planning and complex case work
  • Foster a psychologically safe team culture prioritising wellbeing and development
  • Manage workforce planning, rostering and real-time service operations
  • Conduct coaching, performance conversations and capability building
  • Escalate complex matters with sound judgement and direction
  • Monitor service quality and compliance with program requirements
  • Utilise data to drive continuous improvement and outcomes
  • Review and approve financial support packages for victims transitioning away from violence
  • Collaborate with leaders and stakeholders to strengthen the program
