Job summary

Australian Mentoring Services (AMS) is seeking a Team Leader for Supported Independent Living in Campbelltown, NSW. You will lead a team of Mentors across SIL homes, provide guidance, model best practice and ensure person-centred supports align with each participant’s goals.

This permanent part-time role requires Saturday availability, trauma-informed care understanding, and strong communication. You will coordinate daily operations and partner with families to ensure high-quality, safe support.

Qualifications

• Experience in disability support or a similar sector.
• NDIS Worker Check and WWCC.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification.
• Ability to lead, mentor and develop staff performance.

About Us

Australian Mentoring Services (AMS) is a registered NDIS provider delivering Supported Independent Living (SIL) and Community Participation supports across NSW. We support participants with complex psychosocial, neurodevelopmental, cognitive and intellectual disabilities to live a fulfilling life, achieve personal goals, and reconnect with their families and communities.

About the Role

As a SIL Team Leader, you will lead and support a team of Mentors across our SIL homes in South West Sydney. You’ll provide guidance, model best practice, and ensure person-centred support aligns with each participant’s unique needs and goals.

Reporting to the Practice Leader, you’ll play a key role in coordinating daily operations, supporting your team and ensuring participants receive safe, consistent and high-quality support.

This is a permanent part-time, shift-based role, with Saturday availability essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and support your team to deliver high-quality, person-centred support.
• Coordinate daily operations and ensure support plans, including behaviour support, mealtime management and medication procedures, are followed.
• Encourage participant independence, choice and goal achievement.
• Liaise with families, stakeholders and external services to promote holistic support.
• Promote a safe, clean and inclusive environment in line with WHS requirements.
• Support staff development, performance and accountability.
• Drive continuous improvement and uphold AMS values in every interaction.

What You Bring

• Experience working in disability support or a similar sector.
• Understanding of psychosocial disability and trauma-informed care.
• Strong communication, leadership and organisational skills.
• Ability to mentor, guide and develop staff performance.
• A person-centred approach and commitment to supporting people with complex needs.
• Current NDIS Worker Check and Working With Children Check.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification.
• Current NSW P2 or full Driver’s Licence and access to a comprehensively insured vehicle.
• Availability to work Saturdays as part of the roster.
