Job summary

Hume City Council is seeking two full-time Team Leader City Laws to provide operational leadership and supervision of frontline regulatory officers across animal management and local laws, litter and amenity programs.

These roles involve overseeing day-to-day operations, investigations, and enforcement while developing team capability and delivering high-quality community outcomes within a council-driven framework.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in a regulatory, compliance, enforcement, public safety, leadership or related discipline; or lesser formal qualifications with substantial relevant experience.
• Current Victorian Driver Licence.
• Current Employee Working with Children Check.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a satisfactory National Police Check.
• Ability to successfully complete required pre-employment medical and assessment requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of City Laws Officers to deliver professional, customer-focused regulatory services.
• Manage daily operations, workloads and priorities to ensure responsive and effective service delivery.
• Provide guidance and oversight for complex investigations, compliance matters and enforcement activities.
• Build positive relationships with residents, businesses and key stakeholders to achieve community safety and amenity outcomes.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives, team capability development and service excellence.
• Contribute to after-hours and emergency response arrangements as required.
