Mackay Regional Council is seeking a confident and community-minded Local Laws Officer on a temporary full-time basis. The role covers regulatory enforcement across animal management, parking, and property conditions, with opportunities to engage with the community and protect public amenity.

The successful candidate will have regulatory compliance experience, strong people skills, and the ability to handle challenging conversations professionally.

Qualificações

• Experience in a regulatory compliance environment.
• Knowledge of Acts, Regulations, Local Laws and Policies.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the community.
• Confidence in resolving conflicts professionally.
• Good written communication, notices and correspondence.
• Strong time management and prioritisation skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Responsabilidades

• Undertake inspections and patrols relating to animal management and Local Laws.
• Investigate non-compliance and issue infringement notices where required.
• Undertake regulated parking activities, including issuing parking infringements.
• Investigate and action abandoned vehicles across the Local Government area.
• Investigate overgrown and untidy properties and issue notices.
• Collect and prepare evidence for legal action relating to Local Laws matters.
• Assist with care of animals impounded under Council's authority.
• Inspect and register or licence relevant boarding and breeding kennels and racehorse stables.
• Participate in Council's on-call and after-hours program.
