Blue Mountains Library seeks an enthusiastic Team Leader to guide a dedicated team in a busy public library environment. You will supervise, support and develop staff, coordinate day-to-day operations and foster a positive, collaborative team culture.

You will be agile, resilient and solutions-focused, with the ability to manage competing priorities while delivering quality customer service to our community.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Library/Information Studies or associated field.
• Proven ability to supervise and develop staff in a customer-focused environment.
• Experience with library technology and public access technology.

• Ability to prioritise, meet deadlines and maintain attention to detail.

Position Description

Blue Mountains Library is seeking an enthusiastic and capable Team Leader to lead a dedicated team in a dynamic and busy public library environment. You will bring experience in supervising, supporting and developing staff, coordinating day-to-day operations and fostering a positive and collaborative team culture. You will be agile, resilient and solutions-focused, with the ability to manage competing priorities while delivering quality customer service.

The successful applicant will work a job share arrangement of 56 hours per fortnight at Springwood Library with the following roster:

Wednesday - 9:30am to 6:15pm (7.75 hours / 1 hour break)
Thursday - 9:30am to 6:15pm (7.75 hours / 1 hour break)
Friday - 9:30am to 6:15pm (7.75 hours / 1 hour break)
Saturday - 9:30am to 4:15pm (5.75 hours / 1 hour break)

The successful candidate will have:

• Tertiary qualifications in Library/Information Studies or associated field.
• Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with the public and effectively respond to the needs of the community in a customer-focused environment and demonstrated commitment to excellence in customer service.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and supervise a team with initiative, flexibility, enthusiasm, and high-level teamwork skills.
• Demonstrated ability to problem-solve, making decisions promptly, in line with established procedures.
• Demonstrated ability to identify priorities, meet deadlines and work with attention to detail.
• Demonstrated experience with library-based technology and library management systems, including the provision of public access technology, and the ability to trouble-shoot and resolve issues where required.
• Strong written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
• Thorough knowledge of and commitment to Work, Health and Safety systems and issues and a commitment to attend relevant training. Understanding and commitment to Equal Employment Opportunity principles

Remuneration: base salary commencing at $85,842 (pro-rata) gross per annum

+ 12% superannuation

+ annual performance-based salary increases / bonus (1-3.5%)

+ annual award increase
