Blue Mountains Library is seeking a proactive Team Leader to guide a dedicated team in a busy public library setting. You will lead staff, coordinate daily operations and foster strong community connections while delivering quality customer service.

Job description

You will be required to lead the effective operation of the branch by supporting staff, delivering quality and customer focused library services, fostering a positive team environment, and building strong relationships with customers, stakeholders and the community. Blue Mountains Library is seeking an enthusiastic and capable Team Leader to lead a dedicated team in a dynamic and busy public library environment. With experience supervising, supporting and developing staff; coordinating day-to-day operations; and fostering a collaborative team culture; you are agile, resilient and solutions-focused and can manage competing priorities while delivering quality customer service.

The successful candidate will have:

• Tertiary qualifications in Library/Information Studies or associated field.
• Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with the public and effectively respond to the needs of the community in a customer-focused environment and demonstrated commitment to excellence in customer service.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and supervise a team with initiative, flexibility, enthusiasm, and high-level teamwork skills.
• Demonstrated ability to problem-solve, making decisions promptly, in line with established procedures.
• Demonstrated ability to identify priorities, meet deadlines and work with attention to detail.
• Demonstrated experience with library-based technology and library management systems, including the provision of public access technology, and the ability to trouble-shoot and resolve issues where required.
• Strong written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
• Thorough knowledge of and commitment to Work, Health and Safety systems and issues and a commitment to attend relevant training.

Remuneration: base salary commencing at $85,842 (pro-rata) gross per annum + 12% superannuation + annual performance-based salary increases / bonus (1-3.5%) + annual award increase.
