Job summary

Thales Australia is seeking a production leader to oversee day-to-day operations at our Benalla and Mulwala sites, ensuring safe, efficient manufacturing and compliant processes.

You will coordinate schedules, maintenance, and workforce resources while driving continuous improvement to enhance safety, quality and operational performance. Australian defence roles require clearances and citizenship; relevant technical qualifications are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in production planning, chemical processes and resource coordination.
• Strong understanding of HSE and quality requirements.
• Experience troubleshooting plant and process issues.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day production operations, ensuring safe, efficient and compliant manufacturing activities.
• Coordinate production schedules, maintenance activities and workforce resources to achieve targets.
• Identify, investigate and resolve plant and process issues, driving continuous improvement initiatives.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, quality and operational performance.
• Ensure product quality, inventory accuracy and production documentation are maintained to meet business and regulatory requirements.

OUR TEAM

Our Munitions teams in Benalla and Mulwala produce propellants, explosives and munitions for defence and commercial uses. With ongoing investment into research and development, we produce some of the world’s most high-performing guided weapons and explosive ordnance systems. And being at the forefront of a rapidly evolving industry gives our teams constant opportunities to build on their technical expertise.

YOUR ROLE

• Experience in production planning, chemical processes and resource coordination
• Strong understanding of HSE and quality requirements
• Experience troubleshooting plant and process issues
• Knowledge of propellant or similar high-risk manufacturing environments

A Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain an appropriate clearance.
