Job summary

Thales is seeking engineers to design, develop and validate hardware solutions for defence applications in Australia. You will analyse requirements, conduct simulations and prototyping, and work with multidisciplinary teams to deliver customer-focused outcomes.

The role emphasises technical risk identification, rigorous documentation and reporting throughout the project lifecycle. A defence background and clearances may be required.

Qualifications

• Must have technical background in engineering or science field.
• Experience in chemical/chemistry engineering preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem solving with structured approach.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver on time.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Our Munitions teams in Benalla and Mulwala produce propellants, explosives and munitions for defence and commercial uses. With ongoing investment into research and development, we produce some of the world’s most high-performing guided weapons and explosive ordnance systems. YOUR ROLE

• Design, develop and validate hardware solutions
• Analyse requirements through studies, simulations, modelling and prototyping activities
• Identify and resolve technical risks and complex development challenges
• Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver customer-focused solutions
• Prepare accurate technical documentation and reports throughout the project lifecycle

Your Experience

• Relevant technical qualification and experience
• Proven experience in Chemical and Chemistry engineering and a specialist technical domain
• Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured approach
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while delivering quality outcomes on time
• Collaborative team player with strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
