Job summary

Wellways Australia is seeking a dedicated leader to oversee the Youth Community Living Support Services (YCLSS) at the Local Health District level in Newcastle West, NSW. You will supervise staff, ensure safe, evidence-based supports, and manage governance, budgets, and contracts under the Program Coordinator's direction.

You will also build stakeholder relationships, carry a small YCLSS caseload, and support participants toward transition to adulthood through intensive development work.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Mental Health or Community Services, the Social Sciences or related discipline.
• Understanding of mental health issues and at least 1 year of program management experience.
• Current valid Driver's Licence and ability to travel for the role.
• Current Working with Children Check and Satisfactory National Police Records Check.
• NDIS Worker Screening Check and NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate (free module).

Responsibilities

• Coaching and leading team members in the use of innovative and supportive practices.
• Providing supervision and reflective practice.
• Ensuring high quality, safe and effective recovery orientated practice is being delivered consistently.
• Management of the Local Health District caseload, including participation on the regional selection panel.
• Ensuring timely entry and integrity of information in the client management system.
• Developing and maintaining regional partnerships and stakeholder relationships, especially with Local Health District.
• End to end management of the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, development, end of employment and succession planning.
• Implementation of staff training and development strategies.
• Reporting for quality, contractual and evaluation purposes.

About the opportunity

In this role, you'll oversee the day-to-day operations of our Youth Community Living Support Services (YCLSS) program at the Local Health District Level, focusing on providing day to day supervision and coaching to YLCSS staff that ensures the delivery of high quality, safe, effective and evidence-based supports, while also ensuring that program governance, budgetary and contractual requirements are met under the direction of the Program Coordinator.

You will take a lead role in developing stakeholder relationships while carrying a small YCLSS caseload, working alongside participants, providing intensive support to address key development areas that support transition into adulthood.

• End to end management of the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, selection, onboarding, development, end of employment and succession planning activities
• The implementation of training and other staff development strategies
• Reporting for quality, contractual and evaluation purposes

To be successful in this role

• Tertiary Qualifications in Mental Health or Community Services, the Social Sciences or related discipline
• Understanding of mental health issues and at 1 year program management experience
• Current valid Driver's License and the ability to undertake travel for the role.
• Current Working with Children Check and Satisfactory National Police Records Check.
