Job summary

HenderCare is seeking an experienced Positive Behaviour Support Team Lead to lead and mentor a team of Behaviour Support Practitioners in WA, building PBS services from the ground up while maintaining your clinical practice.

In this leadership role you will shape how PBS services are delivered, provide clinical oversight of PBS Plans and collaborate with families and other providers to achieve person-centred outcomes for NDIS participants.

Qualifications

  • Experience delivering Positive Behaviour Support services within the NDIS.
  • Strong knowledge and application of the PBS Capability Framework.
  • Experience developing high-quality Behaviour Support Plans for complex needs.
  • Understanding of restrictive practices and strategies to reduce/eliminate them.
  • Experience supervising, mentoring or providing clinical support to other practitioners.
  • Proven ability to manage competing clinical and leadership priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor and supervise Behaviour Support Practitioners at all levels.
  • Provide complex behavioural analysis, risk assessments and clinical decision-making support.
  • Maintain clinical caseload and develop PBS plans.
  • Collaborate with families and other service providers to support positive outcomes.
  • Monitor referrals, team capacity, service quality and clinical outcomes.
  • Support induction, professional development and capability building.
  • Identify risks and opportunities for continuous improvement and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Contribute to growth of PBS services across WA.

Due to continued growth, HenderCare is seeking an experienced and passionate Positive Behaviour Support Team Lead to join our growing Allied Health team in WA and help establish and grow our Positive Behaviour Support services.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Behaviour Support Practitioner to step into a leadership role and build a Positive Behaviour Support team and service from the ground up, while continuing to maintain your own clinical practice.

About The Role

As the Positive Behaviour Support Team Lead, you will lead and support Behaviour Support Practitioners to deliver high-quality, evidence-based and person-centred services. You will provide practice leadership and quality oversight of Positive Behaviour Support Plans, with a strong focus on improving quality of life and reducing and eliminating restrictive practices.

Your Responsibilities Will Include
  • Lead, mentor and provide supervision to Behaviour Support Practitioners at all levels.
  • Support practitioners with complex behavioural and functional analysis, risk assessments and clinical decision-making.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding and application of the Positive Behaviour Support Capability Framework.
  • Maintain a clinical caseload and develop high-quality Positive Behaviour Support Plans.
  • Collaborate with parents, families, carers and other service providers to support positive outcomes for participants.
  • Provide practice leadership across various settings, including monitoring referrals, team capacity, service quality and clinical outcomes.
  • Support clinical induction, performance, professional development and capability building.
  • Identify practice risks and opportunities for continuous improvement, ensuring competency and compliance with relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to the growth and development of Positive Behaviour Support services across WA.
Our Ideal Candidate

We’re looking for an experienced Behaviour Support Practitioner who is ready to take the next step into leadership and is passionate about building high-quality PBS services.

Our Ideal Candidate Will Bring
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, Developmental Education or another relevant Allied Health discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering Positive Behaviour Support services within the NDIS.
  • Strong knowledge and application of the Positive Behaviour Support Capability Framework.
  • Experience developing high-quality Behaviour Support Plans and working with complex support needs.
  • Strong understanding of restrictive practices and evidence-based approaches to reducing and eliminating their use.
  • Experience providing supervision, mentoring or clinical support to other practitioners.
  • Strong clinical judgement, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • A collaborative and growth-focused approach, with the initiative to develop new ideas and opportunities.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing clinical and leadership priorities.
  • A full Australian driver’s licence.
