Job summary

Ruah is seeking a Team Lead to guide a dedicated crisis accommodation team at Kambarang Place, supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women escaping violence. The role blends leadership with trauma-informed practice to ensure safe, high-quality, client-centred care.

You will lead a high-performing team, strengthen community connections and drive positive outcomes, while upholding Ruah’s values in a 38-hour week, Monday to Friday schedule.

Qualifications

• Female applicant, as required by service needs.
• Experience with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women escaping family and domestic violence.
• Demonstrated leadership including supervision, coaching and staff development.
• Experience in crisis accommodation or residential service settings.
• Strong trauma-informed and culturally safe practice.
• Experience managing complex client situations and risk.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and stakeholder engagement.
• Strong case management and service delivery knowledge.
• Commitment to Ruah’s values and social change.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and support a high-performing team delivering crisis accommodation and DV services.
• Provide day-to-day operational leadership for safe, client-centred service delivery.
• Lead services at Kambarang Place including crisis accommodation and case management.
• Promote culturally safe, trauma-informed and strengths-based practice.
• Support women to achieve safety, stability and positive life outcomes.
• Manage service delivery, risk, incidents and complex client situations per policies.
• Build partnerships with Aboriginal communities and government agencies.
• Monitor service quality, outcomes and compliance with documentation/reporting.
• Foster a positive team culture aligned with Ruah's values and staff wellbeing.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and service innovation.
