Job summary

Holmesglen seeks an experienced Cable Jointers/Underground Distribution professional to teach apprentices and industry personnel at our Melbourne campus. You’ll cover underground power distribution, LV/HV cable jointing, testing, commissioning and fault restoration as part of a practical, hands-on teaching program.

The role offers full-time ongoing employment with a supportive team, onsite facilities at Drummond Street, and enhanced work-life balance under our teaching agreement.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in the Electrical Supply Industry and related field training.
• Current industry licences/tickets.
• Experience as a Linesperson / High Voltage Operator / Live Line Worker.
• WWCC and Police Check: Victorian Working with Children Check and Police Check within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Teach apprentices and industry personnel across underground power distribution networks.
• Instruct LV/HV cable jointing, terminations, installation, testing and commissioning.
• Deliver training on safe work practices and network procedures.
• Support lesson preparation, assessment and student support on campus.

• Salary package: $175,238 to $180,000, inclusive of 12% superannuation
• Drummond Street Campus - onsite parking with close proximity to public transport
• Flexibility under our teaching agreement

About the role:

We're looking for experienced Cable Jointers and Underground Distribution professionals who want to share their expertise and help train the next generation of ESI workers.

You'll teach apprentices and industry personnel across:

• Underground power distribution networks
• LV and HV cable jointing and terminations
• Cable installation, testing and commissioning
• Fault finding and network restoration
• Safe work practices and network procedures

What you'll need:

• Teaching qualification — Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122) / TAE40116 / TAE40110
• Current industry licences/tickets
• Significant experience in the Electrical Supply Industry
• Experience as a Linesperson / High Voltage Operator / Live Line Worker
• WWCC and Police Check: Victorian ‘employee’ Working with Children Check, and a valid Police Check within the last 12 months.
