Mary MacKillop Childcare North Queensland is seeking a passionate Kindergarten Teacher to join St Michael's Kindergarten as a part-time Teacher Director on Palm Island. The role involves delivering a high-quality, play-based program aligned with QKLG and building strong partnerships with families and the community.

The position requires Teaching/ECE qualifications, a Blue Card, and First Aid with CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level or near-completion in Teaching/Early Childhood Education.
• Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card).
• First Aid incl. CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis certification.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a high-quality, play-based Kindergarten program aligned with the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline (QKLG).
• Build strong partnerships with families and the local community.
• Lead St Michael's Kindergarten as Teacher Director on Palm Island and support part-time term-time schedule.

Mary MacKillop Childcare North Queenslandprovides high-quality provision of care to families across the Diocese of Townsville, which stretches from Ingham in the North, Proserpine in the South, Mount Isa in the West and Palm Island to the East. About the position St Michael's Kindergarten is located in the heart of beautiful Palm Island, providing an Approved Kindergarten Program to the local community. We have arare opportunity for a passionate and creativeKindergarten Teacherto join our team as theTeacher Directoron apermanent part-time,working22.8 hours per week (Tuesday to Thursday) school term time up to 40 weeks per year. The annual salary is inclusive of 4 weeks annual leave and up to 7 weeks recess leave. Travel and accommodation will be considered, along with competitive remuneration. We are flexible on the commencement date and welcome applications from candidates who can startlater this year or at the beginning of the 2027 school year. In this rewarding role, you will deliver a high-quality, play-based Kindergarten program aligned with the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline (QKLG). You'll create engaging learning experiences that nurture children's curiosity, confidence and development while building strong partnerships with families and the local community. What We’re Looking For:

• Tertiary qualifications in Teaching/Early Childhood Education or near completion

• Demonstrated ability to build respectful relationships with children, families and colleagues from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds
• Current First Aid Certificate Including CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis
• Understanding and knowledge of National Quality Framework and Early Years Learning Framework
