Job summary

Columba Kindergarten and Care in Charters Towers is seeking an Educator to join our passionate team in a casual role, supporting Before School Care and After School Care from Monday to Friday with shifts from 7:00–9:00 and 14:00–17:30. Up to 27.5 hours per week.

Ideal candidates hold Certificate III or Diploma in Early Childhood Education (or working towards), knowledge of NQF and My Time Our Place, ability to learn childcare software, and strong teamwork.

Qualifications

• Certificate III or Diploma in Early Childhood Education or ACECQA equivalent.
• Understanding of National Quality Framework and My Time Our Place.
• Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card).
• Current First Aid Certificate including CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis or ability to obtain before commencement.
• Ability to learn new systems and child care management software.
• Ability to work effectively in a close-knit team environment.

Responsibilities

• Support Before School Care and After School Care from Monday to Friday.
• Shifts typically: Before School 7:00am–9:00am and After School 2:00pm–5:30pm.
• Additional hours may be available for lunch break coverage and extra support.
• Contribute to an inclusive, engaging environment where every child thrives.
• Work under the leadership of an experienced, qualified leader within the service.

Mary MacKillop Childcare North Queensland provides high-quality provision of care to families across the Diocese of Townsville, which stretches from Ingham in the North, Proserpine in the South, Mount Isa in the West and Palm Island to the East.

Columba Kindergarten and Care, Charters Towers offer long day-care for children aged 3-5 through a Queensland Government-approved Kindergarten program. Additionally, we provide before and after school care, as well as vacation care for children attending our school and for the broader community.

About the position

Columba Kindergarten and Care is excited to invite a passionate Educator to join our dynamic team. This is a casual position, with the opportunity to work up to 27.5 hours per week, depending on service requirements and available shifts.

The primary requirement is to support Before School Care and After School Care from Monday to Friday, with regular shifts generally available during the following times:

• Before School Care: 7:00am–9:00am
• After School Care: 2:00pm–5:30pm

Additional hours may also be available throughout the day, including for lunch break coverage and additional support within the service, as required.
