Job summary

Code Camp is Australia's leading provider of school holiday and after‑school tech programs, and we’re hiring facilitators/educators in Canberra. This casual, flexible role is ideal for uni students studying Education, Software Engineering, or related fields who want hands‑on experience with kids.

You'll deliver our lesson plans to small classes of 5-12 year olds, work roughly 3pm–5pm once a week for 8 weeks at a nearby school, and receive paid training plus ongoing support from a tech‑support

Qualifications

• WWVP Registration or willingness to apply immediately.
• Experience with or around children aged 5-12 is essential.
• Tech‑savvy with an interest in coding, science and creativity.
• Mature, reliable and able to supervise children.
• Excellent customer service when liaising with schools or parents.
• Fluent conversational English.

Responsibilities

• Deliver our fun, easy‑to‑follow lesson plan to a small class of primary‑aged children.
• Receive paid training and ongoing support from our online tech‑support team.
• Work approximately 3pm–5pm, once a week, over 8 weeks at a school near you.
• Staff are required to supply their own laptop and HDMI adapter for personal use.

This role is ideal for uni students, for example, studying Education, Software Engineering, Video Game Development, etc. looking for hands‑on experience working with kids while building confidence and skills in tech and leadership.

Is this you?

• Experienced or interested in working with kids aged 5 - 12

• Passionate about fields such as coding, minecraft, animation, science and creativity

• Able to work approx 3pm - 5pm once a week over 8 weeks at a school near you

• Someone who feels confident speaking in front of a group, is enthusiastic and a good problem solver

• Trustworthy, independent, punctual, and reliable

• Looking to get more experience and references for your resume

About the position:

• Our Red Hill location runs Monday - Friday during Term 4 (you’ll work on the days that suit you)

• You will be provided our fun easy‑to‑follow lesson plan to deliver to a small class of primary‑aged children

• Paid training provided as well as constant support from a our online tech‑support team

• Staff are required to supply their own Laptop and HDMI adapter for personal use

Required Skills/Certifications:

While we don’t require a specific degree, you should have some or all of the following:

• Valid Employee Working With Vulnerable People (WWVP) Registration or willing to apply immediately

• Prior experience working with or being around young kids (aged 5 - 12) is essential as this role involves leading a class

• Tech‑savvy with an interest in science, tech and creativity

• Mature outlook, common sense and the ability to supervise children

• Great customer service when speaking to school staff or parents

• Fluent conversational English
