Job summary

Rivkin Securities in Sydney seeks an experienced Systems Support Officer to provide practical IT support across the business, including hardware, software, Microsoft 365, user access, network connectivity and security.

You will set up and maintain computers, accounts and devices, manage permissions and MFA, and assist with IT projects to keep Rivkin's tech environment reliable and secure.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years' experience in IT support or similar ICT role.
• Qualification in IT, Computer Systems, Networking or related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to office-based and remote employees for hardware, software, and access issues.
• Set up and maintain computers, user accounts, Microsoft 365, applications and IT equipment.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, passwords and MFA.
• Troubleshoot Wi‑Fi, internet, VPN and network connectivity.
• Install and maintain laptops, desktops, monitors, printers, phones and other IT equipment.
• Maintain IT assets, licences and inventories.
• Support cybersecurity, Defender and device security requirements.
• Liaise with MSPs, vendors and telecoms to resolve issues.
• Provide support for internal systems and basic WordPress troubleshooting.
• Document IT changes and support requests accurately.
• Provide guidance and training on IT systems and software.
• Assist with new software implementations and IT processes.

Rivkin is an established Australian financial services and wealth management business with more than four decades of experience. Based in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs, Rivkin provides investment research, portfolio solutions, private wealth and SMSF services to a diverse range of clients.

As our business continues to evolve, technology plays an increasingly important role in supporting our people, systems and day-to-day operations.

We are now seeking an experienced and hands-on Systems Support Officer to join our team and take responsibility for providing reliable, responsive and practical IT support across the business.

About the Role

This is a hands-on ICT support position where you will work closely with employees across the business, resolving day-to-day technology issues and helping ensure our systems, devices and applications operate effectively.

You will be responsible for providing technical support across hardware, software, Microsoft 365, user access, network connectivity and business systems, while also assisting with IT security, equipment management and technology projects.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Provide technical support to office-based and remote employees, resolving hardware, software, network and user-access issues.
2. Set up and maintain computers, user accounts, Microsoft 365, applications and IT equipment.
3. Manage user accounts, permissions, password resets and multi-factor authentication.
4. Troubleshoot Wi‑Fi, internet, VPN and general network connectivity issues.
5. Install, configure and maintain laptops, desktops, monitors, printers, phones and other IT equipment.
6. Maintain IT equipment, software licences and device inventories.
7. Support cybersecurity, antivirus, Microsoft Defender and device security requirements.
8. Liaise with managed service providers, software vendors and telecommunications providers to resolve technical issues.
9. Provide support for internal systems, websites and online platforms, including basic WordPress and website troubleshooting.
10. Maintain accurate records of IT assets, support requests and system changes.
11. Provide guidance and training to employees on IT systems and software.
12. Assist with the implementation of new software, systems and internal IT processes.
13. Escalate complex technical issues where required and ensure IT requests are resolved efficiently with minimal disruption to business operations.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

1. At least 2 years' experience in IT support, systems support, help desk or a similar ICT role.
2. Relevant qualification in Information Technology, Computer Systems, Networking, or a related discipline.
3. Demonstrated experience supporting hardware, software, Microsoft 365, user accounts and network connectivity.
4. Experience with Windows, Microsoft 365, user permissions, password management and multi-factor authentication.
5. Experience configuring and maintaining computers, peripherals, mobile devices and other IT equipment.
6. A good understanding of IT security, endpoint protection and Microsoft Defender.
7. Experience working with external IT providers, software vendors or telecommunications providers.
8. Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving and analytical skills.
9. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
10. Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
11. A proactive, practical and solutions-focused approach.
12. The ability to work independently while also working effectively with internal teams and external service providers.
