Job summary

Victoria Police is seeking a System and Network Administrator to join the SPU IT division in Melbourne. The role operates within a 24/7 environment, focusing on installing, operating and managing infrastructure and supporting system users.

You will work with a small team, require Australian citizenship for security vetting, and participate in after-hours rotations. Normal hours are 8:00am–4:00pm, five days a week.

Qualifications

• Experience with Windows Server, Windows Desktop, Linux, VMware and networking.
• Background in a Telecommunications or Computer services organisation.
• IT or Telecommunications qualification and/or 5 years industry experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design and deployment of the physical and virtualised system architecture.
• Monitor performance and ensure optimal operation of the platforms.
• Report and resolve identified issues for users and coordinate with vendors.
• Advise on improvements to optimise and enhance performance.
