Job summary

Victoria Police - Public Service Positions in Melbourne seeks a System and Network Administrator to design, deploy and manage Windows Server, Windows desktop, Linux, VMware and networking in a 24/7 operational environment. You will monitor systems, resolve issues with vendors, and contribute to improvements for performance and security.

The role is full-time and fixed-term until 09/09/2028, based at the Victoria Police Centre in Docklands, with after-hours on a rotational roster.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have knowledge of IT networks, hardware and software deployment and operations.
A background with a telecommunications or computer services organisation is preferred.
Specialist skills in high security telecommunications monitoring.
The ability to work within a small team and directly with end users.
It or telecommunications qualification and/or 5 years industry experience.

Responsibilities

Assisting in the design and deployment of the physical and virtualised system architecture.
Monitoring performance and ensuring optimal operation of the platforms.
Reporting and resolving any identified issues for users and working with vendors.
Advising on improvements and enhancements to optimise and enhance performance.
