Job summary

Victoria Police is seeking a System and Network Administrator for the SPU IT division in Melbourne. The role focuses on designing, deploying, and maintaining physical and virtualised systems, with a strong emphasis on security, performance, and end-user support.

The successful candidate will bring Windows Server/Desktop, Linux, VMware and networking expertise, and will work in a small team with after-hours on a 24/7 rotation. National Vetting and pre-employment checks apply.

Qualifications

• Knowledge in IT Networks, Hardware and Software deployment and operations.
• A Background with a Telecommunications or Computer services organisation.
• Specialist Skills in High Security Telecommunications monitoring.
• The ability to work within a small team and directly with end users.
• IT or Telecommunications qualification and/or 5 years industry experience.

Responsibilities

• Assisting in the design and deployment of the physical and virtualised system architecture.
• Monitoring performance and ensuring optimal operation of the platforms.
• Reporting and resolving any identified issues for users and working with vendors.
• Advising on improvements and enhancements to optimise and enhance performance.
