Job summary

Qualifications

• Current NV1 security clearance (minimum), with the ability to obtain NV2.
• A tertiary qualification in Electrical, Electronics, Communications, RF or Systems Engineering.
• At least 3 years' relevant experience, including recent Systems Engineering experience on Defence projects.
• Experience in the design and integration of RF or communications systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work onsite in Adelaide.

Responsibilities

• Review and assess engineering design documentation for technical accuracy and compliance with relevant standards.
• Support the planning, execution and reporting of laboratory and field-based testing activities.
• Provide technical guidance across the design, verification and approval process.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering processes and documentation.
• Represent the engineering team at field trials, including occasional domestic and overseas travel.

The Role

We're looking for an experienced Systems Engineer to join a specialist Defence engineering team based in Adelaide. This is a hands‑on role for someone who enjoys getting into the technical detail, working closely with engineers, ADF and APS personnel to review designs, support testing and help maintain a strong engineering process.

You'll be part of a close‑knit engineering cell responsible for the design review, technical assurance and testing of complex Defence systems. There's also scope to get out of the office and into the field, supporting test activities both locally and, from time to time, overseas.

Key Responsibilities
