The role also supports the integration of AI-assisted tools into everyday business workflows – assessing where they can reduce manual effort, speed up reporting and decision-making, and strengthen the platforms already in use – so that systems are used to their full capacity and overall productivity improves.

Design and document system-supported task flows, approval steps, checklists and reporting that guide work through each business process (for example job set-up, plant servicing and maintenance, equipment hire booking and return, progress claims and cost tracking). Support work health and safety (WHS) reporting and designing system-supported workflows for incident, inspection and compliance records across project sites, the machinery workshop and equipment hire. Use process and data modelling to produce clear functional specifications, and where needed liaise with software vendors, developers or integrators to deliver configurations, integrations or automation between platforms.
Evaluate AI-assisted and automation tools for suitability, cost and risk, and recommend where they can streamline reporting, data entry, scheduling and document handling. Plan and coordinate system improvement projects, including scope, timelines, resources and cost, and report progress to management. Develop and execute test plans and user acceptance testing to confirm that changes meet requirements and maintain data quality and system integrity before go-live.
Prepare user guides, procedures and training materials, and deliver training and ongoing support to staff on new or changed systems and processes. Monitor system performance, data quality and user adoption after implementation, and recommend further refinements. Act as a central reference point and adviser to management on ICT system decisions and process improvement.
