About the role
Our Internship Program provides university students completing their studies in 2027 with the opportunity to gain meaningful paid work experience while completing their studies. The program runs from 30 November 2026 to 12 February 2027 and offers exposure to real projects, professional development opportunities, and the chance to work alongside experienced professionals across Sydney Water. Potential extension for additional 12 months for high performing interns (2-3 days per week during university).
As an intern, you'll help us innovate to meet the challenges of a growing city by:
- Contributing to meaningful projects that support Sydney Water's customers, communities, and environment.
- Bringing fresh ideas, innovative thinking, and new perspectives to the business.
- Working collaboratively with experienced professionals across a range of disciplines.
- Developing your technical, communication, and problem-solving skills in a professional environment.
- Building relationships and networking with leaders and teams across the organisation.
- Participating in Sydney Water's Emerging Talent Program.
- Supporting business outcomes while gaining practical experience relevant to your field of study.

To be successful in this role, you will have the following:-

Location
Please note that opportunities are available across multiple Sydney Water locations throughout Greater Sydney, including Parramatta, Potts Hill and other operational sites in Sydney’s North, South and Western Regions. Some locations may require access to your own transport.
