Sydney Water’s Delivery Optimisation team is seeking a Senior Delivery Optimisation Specialist to drive transformation and deliver measurable process improvements across water infrastructure projects. We are looking for a Senior Delivery Optimisation Specialist to drive transformation and deliver measurable process improvements across Sydney Water by leading strategic initiatives, engaging with teams, uplifting process maturity, and ensuring seamless integration of systems and solutions.

About the role:

Join the Delivery Optimisation team within the Performance Delivery Hub, where you will support the delivery of complex infrastructure projects by improving project management practices, systems and processes. Acting as a central specialist resource, you’ll provide advice and hands-on support to drive continuous improvement, embed best-practice tools and standardise ways of working in line with industry and government requirements, while contributing to initiatives across change management, capability uplift, governance and process optimisation to enable efficient, high-quality project outcomes aligned to strategic priorities.

As Senior Delivery Optimisation Specialist you will:

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to uplift project delivery practices, standardise processes and embed best-practice methodologies across Infrastructure Delivery.
• Provide expert advice and hands-on support on governance, assurance and project management systems to enable consistent, high-quality delivery outcomes.
• Develop, refine and maintain project management frameworks, processes, tools and documentation aligned with industry standards and NSW Government requirements.
• Support capability uplift across the business through training, coaching and collaboration, enhancing project management skills and system adoption.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to optimise processes, integrate enterprise initiatives and strengthen performance, governance and value across the infrastructure delivery lifecycle.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• Proven experience in infrastructure project delivery and management systems, with a strong focus on continuous improvement and process optimisation.
• Solid knowledge of project management frameworks, governance, assurance and risk, with the ability to enhance delivery outcomes.
• Strong analytical and technical writing skills, with experience developing processes, documentation, tools and frameworks.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate, influence and support cross-functional teams.
• A proactive, adaptable mindset with the ability to manage competing priorities, support change and contribute to capability uplift through training and coaching.

Important: This is a Senior Delivery Optimisation Specialist role focused on supporting the planning and development of Water infrastructure construction projects.

It is not a digital or IT infrastructure position, and applicants with primarily digital/IT backgrounds will be considered only if they have relevant experience in Water infrastructure development and construction.
